Gluten-free or nah?

Before I head on and share my two cents I’d like to go ahead and explain what gluten even is. In general, is gluten, just a protein form that’s found in wheat, barley, rye and oats. Gluten helps maintaining the shape and gives elasticity to the dough.

If you’re new to it you’re probably wondering what the purpose of a gluten-free diet is?

A gluten-free diet concerns only to people who have a celiac disease. Now if you’re not effected a gluten-free diet shouldn’t necessarily concern you. Today, you’ll find all kinds of stuff, people will promote anything; however, not everything promoted is something that we need. If that is the case, then why are there so many products that offer gluten-free choices?

Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer to that question and I’m sure that there are many possibilities to it. But what I do have are facts to whether you should pursue a gluten-free diet, continue it or just blatantly stop it. Without wasting much of your time here are a few facts:

  1. Did you know about the celiac disease?

Stop, don’t go on google now…! Most people that are on a gluten-free diet doesn’t know whether they’re infected with the disease or not. Unless you’ve undergone a doctrinal test and learned that you have the celiac disease, you most likely don’t have any abnormal reaction to gluten. An allergic reaction to gluten can damage the lining of the small intestine. Symptoms of celiac disease include diarrhea, anemia, bone pain, and a severe skin rash called dermatitis herpetiformis.

Ask yourself does any of the above apply to me eating gluten?

  1. What am I abstaining from?

Going completely gluten-free also means to abstain from a lot of common and nutritious foods. Today, we can find gluten in almost everything such as breads, cereals, crackers, pastry goods, conventional pastas and most processed food made with amounts of gluten.

To eliminate gluten completely will add to nutritional deficiencies, hence, gluten-free products tend to be low in nutrients. Most gluten-free products aren’t rich in vitamins, calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and fiber. On the other hand, to have a gluten-free diet you’d have to constantly double check what you’re eating. I have personally watched what I eat, but even I as a “cautious” eater, wouldn’t want to constantly see whether I can or not eat certain dishes.

So, before you take on the decision I want you to really think it through!

  1. Watch your pockets!

A gluten-free diet can be very expensive. The majority of the gluten-free products are often twice the price compared to conventional products. I underwent a gluten-free diet myself and I must say that there were positive such as negative aspects of the entire diet. What you guys should know though is that my original intent wasn’t it to go gluten-free, but instead I stayed away from wheat. As I informed myself more on what I was doing, I saw that the wheat was tied to gluten and that’s how I came about my seven-week gluten-free experience. So here are my positive experiences: First, I did lose weight and this in a significant amount. Second, I felt much lighter on my feet, which helped me to move faster while running. Third, I had gotten much leaner and didn’t feel bloated at all. Nevertheless, those weeks hit my pockets! As an example, regular gluten-free bread costs about 3 Euros for only 11 slices, whereas conventional bread can be bought for less than a euro or two. Most products were found in that range, so you can think how my grocery shopping went.. Ended up almost being BROKE lol.

So, just to give you guys some information on it. I don’t despise or trying to withhold you from a gluten-free diet, but I want you to get tested first before making the attempt. It’ll not only save your pockets, but also give you a clue on how your body responds to gluten. Finally, it’s not needed to follow every trend that the industry is trying to shovel down on us. On top of that, gluten is also found in a lot of cosmetic, hair and other dermatological products. You’d really have to go out of your way to avoid gluten completely and this can be a stretch..

So, sometimes it’s better to go against the grain ;)!

EAT YOUR CARBS!

fullsizerender

To eat them or to not eat them? Simple, just EAT them..

The notoriety about cutting out carbs from your diet amongst the fitness industry is vast spread. About 80% of my new clients, often women, believe to only lose weight through a low-carb diet. Well, I’m not here to d

ebate, whether a low-carb diet is the “only” way or not. Nevertheless, what I will do as I always tell my clients, is this –  if you want to lose weight then do it gradually than instantly.

I’m sure that there have been numerous of people that have lost weight through a low-carb diet. But, like I said I’m not here to debate and on the other hand, I’m not a fan of diets in general. I don’t want to take much of your time, therefore am I going to give you a few good reasons as to why you SHOULD eat your carbs.

  1. CARBS are FUN!

Indeed, carbs are truly fun, carbs are the main source of energy in our diet. And what’s more fun than receiving energy, right?! Our body can only store a limited version in quantities, which is why it is so eager to use carbs for energy. Carbs are digested into small pieces of glucose, which is a simple sugar form, through our small intestine’s walls. After digestion, glucose will fund itself in the liver, where it enters the circulatory system and  the glucose blood level rises.A

ny excess of glucose will be rejected by the liver and stored as fat. This serves as the reason we count (“or should count”) the amount of your daily carbohydrate intake.

The recommended amount and percent of carbs per day, lays by 45 – 65% of your total calorie intake divided by four.

On the other hand, a scarce in carbohydrates can be harmful to the body. Our body needs energy and when EAT YOUR CARBS! weiterlesen

How do I get faster?

img_1106

The number question I continually receive from majority of the athletes who are concerned about speed is…

How do I get faster?”

It’s quite ironic because developing speed is much more complex than one would think. There are a few factors that play an important role, as to developing speed or getting faster.

First, we need to know that our bodies consist of three muscle fibres type I, type IIb & type IIa.

Type I muscle fibres or “slow-twitch muscles” are used for long distance running. The majority of the marathon runners have trained themselves to be able to run for a long period of time, without getting tired.

Type IIb muscle fibres or “fast-twitch muscles” are used for short distances e.g. sprinting. Here too, athletes have trained to develop more fast-twitch muscles, in order to run fast or be the fastest running.

Type IIa muscle fibres are people who have both type I & IIb muscle fibres. The majority of the people with type IIa muscle fibres, are either great at long distance running nor are they super fast.

Second, being able to move athletically is very important as well. As an athlete we want our moving patterns to be agile and have a good running form/technique. The question here is why does our running form matter? No one on earth came out the womb perfect. We are imperfect people and our body adapts to the things we’ve been teaching it to do.

So in order to decrease these inefficiencies taught to our body, when it comes to running, it is important to unlearn what we know and develop a technique that’ll allow us to run/move at our best.

Is there a perfect running form? No, but you can develop and train towards a “perfect” one.

Last but not least, speed development involves weight lifting too. No, I’m not talking about the regular lift 90% of the people are doing. In order to increase fast-twitch muscles, we are in need of targeted weight lifting e.g. power clean, hang clean, hang snatch, squats and deadlift. Of course are there many more weight lifting ways to become faster, but I mentioned these five, because I believe that they are the most important once for anybody that wants to become faster.

To increase speed it is necessary to develop muscle strength & this is achieved by lifting weights.

Now that we have the important factors together certain questions still remain. So, I’m going to give you guys clarity on three neglected questions that I find very valuable to know.

  1.  The best time to start to work specifically on your speed is throughout the ages of 12 – 16. Obviously, working on your speed doesn’t have a “specific”  timeframe, whether you start from the age 10 or 18 is totally up to you. Nevertheless, you don’t want to start too early and starting extremely late, will only leave you with the option of you not being able to achieve the best result possible. I like to use the ages 12 between 16, simply because these are the stages where kids enter puberty. Changes starting to occur and growth are happening, so to become fast – I believe that working on speed at that time can be very beneficial.
  2. Unless you’re trying to become an track athlete – you shouldn’t just run straight ahead, but also include agile movements into your workout regime. Being able to change directions efficiently, as well as cutting into corners and jumping are amazing exercises for your body control and moving patterns. I tend to do a lot on the track with my athletes, sometimes just as much as we are on the field working on agility. Here’s a fact that I share with every soccer player that gets trained by me. The reason Cristiano Ronaldo would never be faster than Usain Bolt on 100 meters is due to his running form. Bolt has been training on his running form for years now. Ronaldo doesn’t necessarily need to work on his running form, hence soccer players, rarely run a straight line. The same way Ronaldo wouldn’t get beaten by Bolt running into cuts or making effective change of directions. Nevertheless, imagine Ronaldo implementing his running form (not to say that he doesn’t) into his training. Picture how much faster CR7 could actually be by adapting the body to a more specified running form? This is the way I think and as an athlete myself having a background in college football & track – I only see it right to implement this into my training and get the most out of my soccer players or any athlete.
  3. Train with a purpose & don’t just train without a reason. Training with a specific target in mind will have you more focused and work more efficient. Try to get to know what you’re working on and what you’re benefitting from. If you’re unable to find such information, e.g. simply being lazy lol – find yourself a coach, a personal trainer; somebody who’s knowledgeable in the field and have them help you to achieve your goal. Opinions will vary, since everybody has their own way of teaching and executing things. However, whatever you can take out of every lesson and whatever works well for you – find it, keep it and continue to do it. We only achieve results by doing something, so now that you know what requires of you to become faster…

…GO OUT AND GET BETTER.

Sincerely,

Yours Truly…

Soul ties and hardships

What’s up? It’s been quite a while… I’ve been ask a multiple times, by a friend, to speak about this huge topic that is highly unspoken of. At first I wasn’t so sure how to go about it, but I think I’ve found the right words to share with you guys.

When I think about „Soul ties and hardships“ I could relate it to plenty of things. Today however I specifically want to speak about it in terms of sex. If you’ve been raised in an African household, like me, you probably are aware that „sex“ is never to me mentioned nor even thought of. The one and only thing our parents tell us is that it is forbidden and not to be done until we’re married. I don’t have a problem the way my parents raised me, nevertheless what bothers me, is that they’ve never been able to explain to me „why“ sex belongs to a married couple. Of course, did they refer to the bible, but as a teenage guy you don’t really want to listen to that. Growing up I was never really able to speak about sex, despite the fact that school education wasn’t helping, a few „knowledgeable friends“ thought they knew it all; was the question „Are you a virgin“ from my pastor not helping me at all – sigh.

Well as I tried to figure things out myself, life did taught me a very valuable lesson:

„It’s all fun until you meet the crazy one“

I’m sure you can picture here what happened… No I didn’t get anyone pregnant (THANK YOU JESUS), but this experience did made me think twice and actually led me into giving my life to Christ. I remember it as if it happened yesterday, it was January 5th 2012, I was laying in bed and thought about what I’ve done. This experience was so awful that I decided to really stop playing games and to finally give in. I kept on running away and trying to have things go my way… it was all fun until I met that crazy one… & this was enough for me to say „Here I am Lord, please forgive me and do with me as you please!“ It’s a wonder that I’m still alive. I thought God would have struck me by now, but He didn’t.

In order for you to understand what I’m writing about the introduction was needed. So, now that you know where I’m coming from lets start…

Soul ties – A spiritual/emotional connection you have to someone after being intimate with them, usually engaging in sexual intercourse.

I know a lot of people don’t like to hear that, but this is the law of God & this is how he designed it. Sex is meant to be done in marriage between a man and a woman.

Let me take you a few steps backs, so that you can understand this…

God is a covenant God. A covenant is an agreement between two people. Understand that a covenant can only be done with giving a sacrifice. What God requires from that sacrifice is blood.

Covenants done in the Old Testament were different from now.  You can see that with the story of Abraham in Genesis 17:9-11Then God said to Abraham, „As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you ..“

The significance about the circumcision was the blood that was spilled during the process and this is what God accepted. Another form of sacrifice God required, in the Old Testament, was the sacrificial blood of animals for any committed sin. There are plenty of examples I could give you, but we thank God for letting Christ go to the cross and take the penalty we were supposed to take. Through the blood of Jesus we don’t have to do this anymore and have access to God. This is our new covenant with God.

So we got that covered too, great…

The reason a couple supposed to be untouched (both being virgins) before marriage lays within significance of the covenant. Excurse: When the husband penetrates his wife and gets through the hymen tissue; the wife will feel some discomfort and bleeding could occur (that’s if the hymen tissue didn’t tear before hand). However, this process is acknowledge by God as the covenant between the two of you becoming one – (Gen. 2-24).

Ladies and gentlemen, a ring alone does not make the both of you husband and wife. The sexual intercourse is what seals the marriage before God.

The question now is… What happens when you have sex outside of marriage?

No, you’re not going to hell. The only way one will miss heaven is through denouncing Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior; e.g. pride. But, just as anything else done outside of it’s norm are there consequences attached to it. Experiencing such consequences can be very troublesome to the soul. I’m speaking out of experience. What one must know is that the mentioned scripture above remains true, even today, it doesn’t matter who you sleep with. Once slept with somebody the two of you are automatically one.

What does it mean to be one?

Sexual intercourse, as fun as it is, doesn’t just exchange physical liquids and skin particles. But sex involves, the spirit, the mind and a persons emotions; this means having sex goes way deeper than it just happening physical. During the intercourse, the two of you exchange spiritual, emotional and mental traits too. If your partner has anger issues, daddy issues, bad sleeping habits, anxiety, depression etc. it is very likely for you to develop some, not all, but some of those traits.

Here comes the „scary part“, now picture yourself after sleeping with person A; continuing and now having sex with person B,C,D,E & F…  you are now practically „married“ six times before God. Breaking it down – you’ve attached yourself to six different souls. Let that sink in…

So, one may ask what’s so bad about it!? Well… Everything! You guys didn’t just had a „great time“, you two practically shared parts of your life together; possibly forever. It’s normal to share experiences with other people. We also attach ourselves and detach ourselves through out seasons. After all to detach yourself from a persons soul isn’t easy at all.

How do I know if I’m entangled in a bad soul tie?

There are Godly soul ties don’t mistake this, but an ungodly soul tie is something you shouldn’t want to deal with. I think the easiest way to figure this question out is to simply check your records. If you’ve been sexually active then check how many it were/is. Another way to identify a soul tie is through having every now and then flashbacks. Flashbacks remind you on specific intimate moments you shared with someone. Those flashbacks happen in order to keep your mind and body occupied with sexual desires. There are also possibilities that you may find yourself unknowingly in moody seasons, which could result through the soul tie you’re connected to.

What do I do now? That’s the big question & I’m glad you asked that..

There are three things you need to do now. 1. Repent. 2. Repent & 3. Repent again.

  1.  One is required to repent and acknowledge that they’ve sinned against God. When you read the story of Joseph you get to see his answer to Potiphar’s wife, who was trying to seduce him: „No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” (Gen 39:9 – NIV). Notice here how he acknowledge that this would be a sin against God first.
  2. One must repent for the sake of him/herself – for they’ve sinned against their own body. „Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.“ (1. Corinthians 6:19-20 – NIV)
  3. Both need to repent because the both have sinned against each other.

In order to break this covenant and to be able to move on, the two of you need to come together in prayer, agreeing and pleading the blood of Jesus for it to break. „Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.“ (Matt. 18:19 – NIV)

It is not impossible for God to restore you and help you to break free from any ungodly soul tie. It’s up to you to want it though. I think I’ve written enough for now, I could have said so much more; but I’m sure this is all I’m supposed to write. I hope I didn’t scare you and could educate you enough. Many of us aren’t aware of this, so I’d encourage you to share this information with others too. I’m not trying to save anybody, Jesus did that already; neither am I trying to stop you all from having sex. I simply want to make you guys aware of its consequences because I’ve found myself wrapped in ungodly soul ties. I just don’t want you guys to continue the cycle or do repeat the same mistake.

With that being said.. Continue to stay in prayer and maintain what Christ has finished.

Thank you for reading 🙂 until then, be blessed.

The cycle of Relationships

It is interesting to see, how people jump from one relationship to the next; in hopes of finding, what was missing in the previous relationship. Let me tell you – the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. What you see isn’t necessarily what you’re going to get – looks are deceiving. If you don’t learn to water your own seed; every new beginning will not last. I’m not telling you to stick within a place where you don’t feel comfortable, although it would be right because growth happens in uncomfortable places. However, in order to start something new one is in need of a solid foundation. A solid foundation is the base of every new beginning.

Happiness is not found it is something YOU OWN – either you have it or you don’t!

The only way for you to own it is to learn how to sow it. Teach yourself how to be happy and nurture your happiness. Nobody else is going to be happy for you, if you don’t learn to be happy for yourself.

Nevertheless, if you feel the urgency of leaving somebody behind don’t jump into the next relationship. Learn to stay with yourself. There are always two sides to a story, the person you’ve left or left you don’t own every mistake. You too played your part, so try to figure out what you could have done better. Too many are afraid of being alone, I know being single isn’t popular (going into my 5th year lol), but I rather be single than to be miserable beside the next person.

The lack of making a distinct effort concerning the relationship is the reason why so many people end up in break ups. I can’t say much about marriage since I’m not married, but I believe that this somehow applies to the divorce rate too. We expect people to treat us a certain way. We wish for them to be this and that and all of the above. Yet fail to appreciate them for who they are and what they’re actually doing. Sometimes two just need to stick it out and be committed to one another. Both of you all are crazy… we tend to say that women are crazy, but we are ALL somehow crazy. You just need to find the amount of craziness you can put up with and live with it.

The beauty in a relationship isn’t found in what the person can do for you. The beauty lies in having – two crazy people staying committed to one another, growing and forming something beautiful.

There’s no relationship on earth that’s perfect. Stop looking at other people’s relationship. Stop believing the lies couples post up on social media and start working on YOUR OWN relationship. Groom your man/woman into whom you wish for them to become.

Woman, speak to the King in him. Man, speak to the Queen in her.

Treat each other as the both of you deserve – not with a love that fluctuates – but with an unconditional love that you’ve received from God.

And if it isn’t working out at all and you need to leave that person then do it. But give yourself some time to evaluate both sides. Learn from your mistakes as much as you’re learning from the mistakes he/she did. Don’t settle for the wrong person because somebody told you your standards are too high. Nevertheless, make sure you are living up to the standards you have created! Ladies, don’t pray for a Godly man, if you aren’t doing what God wants from you. Men don’t expect your future wife to be a virgin, if you are out there slanging.

Remember, you reap what you sow and you always attract what’s within you. I’m speaking out of experience – trust me.

The truth is everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the one/s worth suffering for. – Bob Marley

You reap what you sow.

I totally believe that we’re all equal before God; we’re all his sons & daughters. What makes us different isn’t so much who we are before God, but how we approach life – which He gave us.

“God is not a respecter of person, but a respecter of principles” – Bishop T.D. Jakes

God created life with the principle of a cycle; you give and get, ups and downs, left and right, forward and backwards etc. There’s certainly, as we see, no way for one to work without the other – everything goes hand in hand. Skipping the giving part and expecting to receive is not going to work out too well. On the other hand, what goes around comes back around; this installs the importance of honesty and not trying to cheat your way out.

„Be nice to people on your way up because you’ll meet them on your way down“ – Wilson Mizner

Indeed, it’s impossible to cheat your way through life and not to reap its consequence. I’m not even trying to scare you, mainly just telling you to watch how you treat life and others. Nevertheless, this remains true – You reap what you sow!

Having made that experience I wondered why certain situations in my life seem unfruitful. What could I’ve done to deserve to be hit with more than I could actually bear? I always thought God doesn’t give us more than we can handle…As I was asking myself all these confused questions; I heard a small voice saying:

You’ve sown yourself into what you own and find yourself in.”

It hit me…although I’ve given God full custody over my life; it didn’t diminish the bad seed I’ve planted back then. God’s grace is always sufficient for us, however, the cycle of life remains, which means one will sow every seed sown. I just want you to leave with this… We are responsible for our actions, there’s no one that will own up to your mistakes. Nevertheless, since God is a good God, a giver of second chances; you can still come out of your situation.

Mistakes give you Wisdom; grow from each mistake and don’t do the same mistake twice.

Thank you for reading 🙂 until then, be blessed.

Basic principles on living a life after Christ

In God’s kingdom everything is structured and serves its purpose, there’s nothing occurring just because. God’s laws still exist today and there is no one able to achieve a goal without sticking to its required principles. In order to be successful, life will require some of your sacrifices. Note that this blog entry isn’t promoting monetary gain, but supposed to guide people in living a successful life after Christ. God is a God of principles and no one existing is exempt from them.

It is vital for us to follow each principle because behind every principle there lays a promise.

God grants us these promises not because we deserve it, but because He loves us, following His instructions also ties Him to keeping His word and lets it be fulfilled.

Short example: There’s no increase without a sacrifice… However you call it whether it be the laws of the World, the laws of nature or you simply admit that it’s God – without planting a seed one cannot grow a tree. Got it? Good!

The same principle applies to anybody who wants to live successfully within the Kingdom of God. I happened to study the second book of Timothy and bumped into the instructions given from Apostle Paul to Timothy, a young man who wholeheartedly followed to live after Christ.

Studying it I found five vital information, which I believe every Christ follower should know and apply unto his/her life.

I hope you’re ready to take notes:

1. Be under the authority of God
2. Timothy 2:1 “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

Timothy was about sixteen years of age when Apostle Paul first worked with him. It is said that he travelled for about fifteen years with Paul before the two departed and Timothy was sent to the church of Ephesus. What’s important here is to know that his first instruction given was to be “strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus”. Why would Paul tell him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus? Paul, who was then Saul, persecuted everybody who claimed to be a follower of Christ. He received permission to imprison everyone who just mentioned the name of Jesus. Until he encountered Jesus himself, the experience of forgiveness and receiving a second chance, which he didn’t deserve, was given to him by the grace that is found in Christ Jesus. I’ve written about it in one of my earlier entries called – On the road to Damascus – read it to get full understanding of this. 🙂

Grace means to obtain favor for something you shouldn’t. Paul, then Saul, should have gotten the same treatment from God – the way he treated every follower of Christ. However, because Jesus went on the cross for our sins – Saul didn’t get the same treatment; instead he obtained favor through Christ by God and got to live a successful life. So, Paul knew what grace meant and understood the importance of finding strength in it. Grace is given to us freely, this by accepting it and committing ourselves to God. Nevertheless, we’re human beings, even though we accept this free gift – we have the tendency to take the simple things in life for granted.

God didn’t bless us with grace to take things for granted, but to be thankful for everything we have because we actually don’t deserve it.

2. Study the field
2. Timothy 2:15 “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Before you can tell anybody about anything, be sure to know everything about the very thing you’re trying to accomplish.

Timothy had to be about mid-age (approx. in his thirties) when given these instructions by Paul. Him being in his thirties he was still considered to be young, which is why Paul instructed him dearly to study to show himself approved to God and not to man.
There are a lot of people, when first coming to Christ, that want to let the entire world know about what has happened to them. This is good, we need people that are willing to go out and share the gospel. I remember when I first gave my life unto Christ. I was so enticed that I was ready to go out and tell the entire word about my good friend Jesus.

However, not everyone was keen to hear about it, as naive I was – I started condemning everything and everybody that didn’t live according to the way of the gospel. As if I knew what God would require from us all – please don’t do the same mistake lol – I still have to shake my head when I think about it. (John 7:25) „Judge not according to appearance but judge righteous judgements.“

Knowledge is power and God will never expose you publicly, if you haven’t mastered your craft privately. Be a student – read, learn and listen as much as you can, so that when the time comes you’ll be able to teach and reach others.

3. Endure hardness
2. Timothy 2:3 “Therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ”

I think everybody is aware in knowing that nothing good will get to you without a struggle. Experiencing hardships is not a good feeling, but it’s a part of the journey. I caught myself in times of adversary judging the entire situation wrong. Sometimes I’m just ready to quit, but I’ve learned that quitting isn’t an option because rushing through the process will not help me. There are several characteristics we will need to develop, in order to get to our desired place. Unfortunately are these characteristics developed at a place of discomfort, not to just get the best out of you, but more importantly – to get you to a state of absolute dependency on God.

The walk with Christ is, at times an isolated one, however, even though you feel alone, you have to know that you’re never lonely.

REMEMBER: Faith is a mindset not a feeling.

4. Distractions
2 Timothy 2:22: “ Flee from youthful lust, but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.“

A clear vision will allow you to stay focused, however, along the journey you will face devious distractions.
Whatever your struggle is, it is between you and God, you don’t have to publicize it. It is easier to be transparent about it, but this also only with someone you fully trust and is able to give you Godly counsel.

What I want to highlight in this verse, is the importance of having the right people around you. It is one thing to be with people who tolerate you, but it is another thing to be with people who accept, encourage and love you. People that tolerate you, don’t necessarily accept you, they’re mostly just around you for what you own or can do or for them. People that accept, love encourage you are around you for who you are as a person and don’t really care about the things you could do for them – KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

To live successfully it is important for you to distinguish between good and right. Good will only last for a while, whereas right will last you for a lifetime. I remember watching an interview between Myles Munroe and Benny Hinn, as Myles spoke he mentioned something that stuck with me. He was explaining how every exit we choose to take on the highway is good, however, there can only be one exist that leads us to our destination. This one exist that leads us to our destination is the right exit. See it is good to have good people around you, but having the right team around you will help you to get to your destination.

Side note: Elevation requires separation! I just saw a friend of mine posting this I understood this a year a go. I almost forgot about it and was thankful to see this again. I also want to remind you that, if you find yourself losing people for various reasons (trying to live a life after Christ) – I know it’s painful. But as you’re going through it, remember that God has to clear out the clutter that is found in your life to get you to your final destination.

5. Humbleness
2. Timothy 2:24 “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness..”

Through it all remain humble, let me say it again, through it all REMAIN HUMBLE! You didn’t invent the wheel; there were people that did it before, there were people already that received the same revelations as you do now. There are also people living under the exact same vision for their lives, just as you do for your life. There’s nothing new under the sun, so I plead with you to remain humble at all times.

Timothy has been instructed to not strive (meaning, in this case, competing with others), but to be gentle unto all. Not everybody is going to have your point of view and not everybody is going to support you. You have to understand that there are going to be people that will disagree, as well as agree with you. Don’t take disagreement or criticism to heart, but learn to develop a character that will allow you to balance the bad and the good. Not everything I do is necessarily good for others, which is fine because criticism is teaching me to improve myself and to always know that I am not perfect.

Knowing this should help you to always look on the cross and to be thankful for everything you’ve got. It’s by grace that I get to continually encourage you with writings. It is by grace that you are talented in the very thing that it is you’re doing. It is also by grace that we’ve obtained the blood sacrifice of Jesus, which saved our lives. So always remember that anything you own and do is only given to you by the grace that is found in Christ Jesus.

Thank you for reading 🙂 until then, be blessed.

Why women shouldn’t seek after men.

You know without being too spiritual, I’ll explain to you in a simple way, why women should not seek after men. I have found it extremely disturbing to see women take on a position they haven’t been equipped for. I say this not to offend women,  I’m not a misogynistic – I love y’all, but it’s important for women to know this. As a woman, I assume, you’re hoping for a man that’s mature enough to understand what’s important in life and take lead. Some just wait and have fairy tale thoughts of prince charming, while others take on the challenge and go on consistent dates. However, whenever a woman starts to date, whereas she’s specifically seeking for someone, the result of it – mostly– doesn’t meet her expectations. I know I’m not speaking for everyone, but I’m sure a few can relate.

Why are those expectations rarely met?

Life was created in order and structure; everything we do has to abide to its „rules“. If you want to lose weight – you’re required to a healthy diet and working out. If you want to gain further education & understanding – you’re required to study, go to school and read. So, shortly said, every desire requires an action and this being done in order with structure. It’s impossible to just sit and hope for a job without filling out applications. I think you get it… So what does this have to do with women not to seeking men? A relationship between a man and a woman has its own rules & guidelines, which is based on the foundation I just mentioned earlier: order & structure. Male are natural born hunters, if a man sees something he wants – he is going to get it. However, if he is not interested  – he won’t pay any attention to it. It’s simple. A woman on the other hand is different; women are more likely to develop the role of becoming a wife. They play with Barbie’s, love to baby sit (the only example that I could come up with lol) and hope for prince charming to come around and find them. In short, women are supposed to be hunted by men!

Okay, so what happens when a woman takes on a different role and starts to be the hunter? In my opinion, a woman is going against nature. I’m not saying that women aren’t supposed to take on leadership positions, but this is how I view it. There are multiple reasons for women to get frustrated while dating men. I’ll try to break it down and give you two examples:

  1. When a woman is fed up being by herself and starts to go men hunting – the woman takes on a role she’s spiritually, mentally, emotionally & physically not equipped for. This could result in dating a man that is completely lazy in all four stages (spirit, mental, emotion & physical).
  2. Because women are emotional (affectionate) a man is more likely entering the date thinking – all she wants is some physical attraction – whereas the woman is actually, unfortunately not always, seeking for true love.

What happens here is a complete turn around in order and structure – no longer is the man actively and passionate about getting what he wants, but has q tendency of being lazy and viewing the women as an easy catch. Here’s the clue ladies, if you want to be treated as the princess your dad said you are; stop searching for prince charming and live like the princess you’re ought to be. It’s getting tiring to hear women going on dates, to have a few connections with some guys, but then end up hurt because they’ve given themselves up too easy. It’s not only your fault ladies; us men are to blame too.

Many men know that they aren’t interested in certain women, yet because the woman makes herself so available – they don’t see anything wrong pleasing her physical need and move on. THAT’S WRONG! I can say that’s wrong because I used to do the same. I would date certain women, knowing that I’m not interested in them, but because they made it easy for me – I  saw nothing wrong in taking advantage of them. I say this not to brag, honestly this was immature of me – but I say this so you (men) don’t continue the same mistakes I did. Men, when you’re not interested in a woman – let her know; especially when she insist on it and tries sleeping with you. Women, if a man isn’t showing much interest, you have to know that there’s NOTHING wrong with YOU – just stop throwing yourself on him. It’ll benefit both parties.

Going back to the points I made – a man is there to lead, provide and protect. Whenever a woman throws this out of proportion, the man is being stripped of his position. You might not think that it’s that deep, but it really is. As a man you want to show your trophy, you want to be the one that brags saying: “ Look what I caught isn’t she beautiful? & Yes she’s mine don’t touch her!” Now, if this doesn’t happen and a woman does all of it, it hurts a man pride and makes order and structure ineffective. Men, know that I’m speaking of matured men, will no longer feel the need to lead, provide or protect. He wasn’t required to put in any work, so he has nothing to be proud of. The point that I’m making is that – we and I mean everybody men and women – have to come back to our given nature and stop going against it.

Ladies, if you want to be in a relationship but cannot find the right man – stop seeking and start working on yourself. It’s simple – you attract what’s within you. Work on your relationship with God, yourself and your goals. This is how you create a standard and men will respect you. Men will the know that they’ll have to have something going for themselves in order to meet/get/date you. It’s going to take while because men take longer maturing, but once this is understood and he truly wants you – HE WILL NOT STOP PURSUING YOU!

A short advice to the Men: if you know that you aren’t ready and are not interested in her, please – let her know and stop playing with her emotions. You’re not just hurting her, but you’re also making it hard for the next guy, who’s actually serious about it. I know I said I wasn’t going to be spiritual, but I just have to back this up with some scripture – for the haters LOL! Genesis 2:20-23 speaks about the creation of Eve. God took Eve out of the rib of Adam. Adam was the first person in the Garden of Eden, when Eve got added unto him – she wasn’t completely aware of her location. She had no knowledge of the things in the Garden. It was Adam who showed her around and taught her everything. Imagine Eve would have just taken on the role of Adam and try to instruct him and teach him on the things God has placed in the Garden. Everything would have been confused because she had no proper knowledge. I’m glad it didn’t go that way because this allowed order and structure to be functional. Ladies, allow a man to be a man and be the woman you have to be. I truly believe that if we stick to the nature of how God created things to be – we’re better off and will cause less hurt to one another. I hope this helped you Until then, God bless you :)!

Don’t judge a book by its cover…

You know when you’re under the shower and start receiving clarity? Today was one of them…

I always had the need to speak about a particular topic. I always held off on because I was thinking that people weren’t ready for the things I would hit them with. However, it doesn’t really matter, after all are we never fully prepared for what’s about to hit us. It’s been boiling within my soul to just get all of the things the Holy Spirit revealed to me out.

There’s too much kept away from the people of God. Everybody wants to hear about God’s blessings and what He will do for them, but quite a few can take the truth. We all hate to be lied to, yet we lie – the sad thing about this is that we lie to ourselves more often than it’s needed. We try hard to portray a picture of sanity, stability and wealth; whereas most of us are broken, in stable and disconnected from God. To make things look good we tend to search for people who are doing worse than us. We gossip, talk down upon them, judge them for what they do, but fail to accept them for who they are. We all love to have a form of godliness, but are denying the power within (2. Timothy 3:5).

I’m aware that I needed to finish my last post, unfortunately is this not the continuation of it – but it’s required that I leave you guys with this.

I’m not afraid to speak and unfold unspoken topics, specifically addressing topics – the people of God have been avoiding (unless I missed out on something).

When I took a look at this picture – I cannot deny – my first impression was shocking. It took me a little while to keep a straight face and to really contemplate on it. As I did this I allowed God to intervene and change my perspective. I think those thoughts are worth sharing and probably needed to be heard (read) too.

One cannot deny the fact that looking at this picture – he wouldn’t immediately judge or laugh or just shake his head. This is how we function – especially within this stereotypical system. It’s hard not do so at first even though one might try hard to not judge. I thought and thought and thought and I was just thinking too much, until I let go of my thoughts and God stepped in. To be honest it doesn’t need God or a rocket sign to come – for us to understand that we’re all broken and need help. It doesn’t matter if you wear a suite and tie every day or you work at the strip club every night – WE ALL NEED HELP!

I personally am tired of Christians judging everything and everybody thinking they know it all – NO OFFENSE – but truth be told – WE JUST CAN’T KNOW IT ALL!

Whether you’ve read the bible twice or twenty times – God is God and God will never allow you to FULLY understand Him. …No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it (Ecclesiastes 8:17- NIV)

Coming back to the picture, which I know is very provocative, I purposely chose to speak upon. Not to get people mad at me, even though anger could be something good, but to solely understand the different facets of God working in our lives. He works in mysterious ways and to put Him into the box – makes it impossible for Him to be who He is. A lot of us have put God in form of jukebox – picking and choosing – when He is allowed to work in our lives and when He is not. We press the play button when we’re angry with somebody and pray for God to take vengeance on them. We press the play button when we’re hurt, wishing for God to hurt those in the same ways they did us. We press the play button – when we see people not obeying Gods commands and turn into the judge. Who made you the judge? Who told you that it’s allowed to judge another persons action? Scripture tells us to judge accordingly – is it possible to judge accordingly when you don’t know the person you’re judging?

We get our minds so wrapped around celebrities, keep up with their lives (much more than to focus on our own) – thinking that it’s okay for us to play the judge once they mess up! Now don’t get me wrong I’m not lashing out on anybody – this post is purely led by the Holy Spirit – for us all to understand. I don’t exclude myself from any of this because I once found myself doing this.

It’s time to change that – It’s time to develop a Christ-like-mind. A mind that will allow us to view everybody as equal – we’re all in it and nobody is getting out of it until God says so. The problem that I have is that – many fail to understand the principles of salvation.  If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:9-13 – NIV).

Just to give you the facts, as you can see it’s also written there too, once we believe within our hearts and confess with our hearts – WE ARE SAVED! What does it mean? It means that what you believe and have confessed – has allowed God to write your name in to the Lambs Book of Life. You’re with Jesus; you’re guaranteed a place in Heaven. The only way for us to not enter into Heaven – is to never have accepted Christ or completely deny that Jesus is the Son of God – who died for our sins. Simple – that’s it!

Of course as you walk the journey there are going to be certain things that will change along the way. A certain lifestyle will not be available for you anymore – better said – it won’t feel the same anymore and you won’t enjoy it as you did before. The point here is not to judge, assume incorrectly here because we don’t know what these women are praying for. The only thing I can picture is that these women were praying for stability, health, income, and security and most likely to not have to come and do this again. You might have a few that love it – but I’m sure 90% of them don’t.

As you take a look at this picture, I want to challenge your thinking – I want to allow God to reveal himself in a different way to you. You know I had one tell me that there’s always a way out and if you don’t want to do something – you just don’t have to. I must say that this is easier said than done. It’s always easy to say that when you’re not the one in the position. Circumstances can get tough there are plenty of single mothers on welfare that are tired and need to feed their children. To do so many choose an easier way and go ahead stripping – that’s reality. Others might choose something else – everybody is different. I know that circumstances shouldn’t keep us where we don’t need to be, but many times – are we a hand away of getting out! Meaning: We all need a helping hand that will guide us out of our circumstance. Your perspective can change a lot, but how can you expect that from a person that cannot see their way out of their circumstance?

I believe that a lot of us – especially people within the church – are in a spiritual state of discomfort. You might not have to strip in order to provide, but you might be stripping in spirit trying to get that married Pastor. Many are stripping themselves off to be seen as the utmost worthiest person. Too many are confused, too many don’t know what to do and many more don’t know how to express themselves. It’s hurting people within the church and outside of the church. Everybody is focused on winning, many Christians are too focused on securing themselves a seat in heaven – that we all have forgotten the common good. God wishes for us all to be saved and not for us to save ourselves. We cannot work our way into heaven, but we can share our experience with one another and get heaven on earth.

As I pour my heart out – I pray that Christ may shine through us all and help us, help us all – to come together and to find comfort in Him. I’m a 100% sure that these women found an intimate moment with God – despite their actions. Yes, it doesn’t make it right to continue, but how about us (the people of God) go out more and be the helping hand that will show them the light to the open door of liberty…

God bless you 🙂 ❤

ps. I didn’t edit it properly, so don’t kill me for the grammar 🙂
